The Satire of Mentoring Innovative Startups

Company leaders are hired not for what they know but for who they are or for skills that cannot be taught by mentors. If you need a mentor, you will never be a game changer. Visionaries don't need people above scrutiny or question.  Visionaries need to question everything.  Why would a visionary need a mentor to to give credit where credit is due? The best trait of a founder is a strong inner compass. 

In the startup world, you will hear of supposed mentors for famous CEOs, with Steve Jobs coming as a surprise to many as former mentor for the Google founders. But were they mentors in the real sense or were they simply endorsers to VCs, or those once-a-month touchpoints that gave credence to newbies?
